Overview
Ski the backcountry of two of the most impressive volcanoes in the Lakes Region.
Ski touring, ski randonnee, or simply "rando" is a perfect combination of personal challenge and connection with nature, allowing you to access unusual places to ski. With this program, you will discover the best skiable slopes of Osorno and Casablanca volcanoes. The package includes 2 full days of ski touring.
Whether you are an experienced skier or a backcountry beginner looking to push your limits, our volcanoes are waiting for you to show you their wonders, as we know slopes for all skill levels. Additionally, you will enjoy an impressive view of the other volcanoes in the area.
Throughout this adventure, you will be accompanied by a local guide who is an expert in this discipline. They will reveal the best skiable slopes in the area, with perfect timing depending on the snow conditions throughout the day, providing safety and local knowledge.

Day 1 (Friday): Airport - Puerto Varas
We pick you up at Puerto Montt Airport and take you to the hotel in Puerto Varas, where we meet with the group for a technical briefing and equipment review.
Day 2 (Saturday): Casablanca Volcano
08:00 - Hotel pick up. We travel 162 km towards Puyehue National Park, approximately a 2.5-hour journey.
10:00 - Base of Casablanca Volcano. Equipped, skins on, and safety equipment checked, ready for a ski touring ascent from 1,100m above sea level for the first 2.7 kilometers of the day.
12:00 - Raihuén Crater. Having crossed the Raihuén crater and about to start the final kilometer of hiking, we rest at 1,500m above sea level to recharge before the next stretch.
13:30 - Descent. We reach an altitude of 1,990m above sea level, enjoying the views offered by the volcano as we remove the skins and begin skiing.
15:00 - Back at the base of the volcano after skiing a little over 3 km, we celebrate and prepare for the return.
15:30 - Return transfer to Puerto Varas.
18:00 - Arrival at the hotel.
20:00 - Dinner (not included).
Day 3 (Sunday): Osorno Volcano - Airport
08:30 - Hotel pick up. We travel 72 km to Vicente Pérez Rosales National Park, approximately a 1-hour journey.
10:00 - Base of Osorno Volcano. Equipped, skins on, and safety equipment checked, ready for a ski touring ascent for the first 2 km of the day.
12:00 - Glacier Station. We have reached an altitude of 1,650m above sea level at the viewpoint station, where we observe the Llanquihue basin before continuing the ascent for the next 1.5 km.
14:00 - Hito Island. At 2,200m above sea level, we remove the skins and start skiing through the hidden valley towards the base of the volcano.
15:30 - Parking Lot. Back at the base of the volcano after skiing a little over 3 km, we celebrate and prepare for the return.
16:00 - Return transfer to Puerto Varas.
17:30 - Arrival at the Airport. Farewell.
